I was born and raised in Texas, where I graduated from Austin College in Sherman with bachelor’s degrees in American history and English, as well as a master’s degree in education. After several years as a classroom teacher, I completed a graduate degree in theological studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley.
I helped found and build a successful educational non-profit before I began writing full time in 2004. My first novel, Yard Sale, was published in 2010.
I am married and the mother of two grown sons. I currently divide my time between Los Angeles and the Eastern Sierra Nevada.
